Primary Objectives for Iowa’s Advancement

Water Quality

It is our goal to reduce the nitrate levels in Iowa's drinking water through the use of fertilizer runoff prevention methods outlined by the USDA. Several studies done both locally and internationally have linked high nitrate levels in water to cancer development. We want to reduce Iowa's high cancer rate by working with our agricultural community to implement preventative methods such as fertilizer application, edge row crops, and wetland restoration.

Empowering Iowa’s Next Generation

We believe that public school funding should be a priority of the state. In recent years, the funding reaching our public schools has not been adequate. Instead, the priority and funding lie with private K-12 schools through the state's voucher program. Approximately 350 million dollars have been spent this school year funding private K-12 schools, while public schools in the state are forced to end long-term programs and relieve staff. It should be the priority of the state to focus on the fiscal needs of our public schools to set up future generations with the opportunities and resources they need for success.

Rural Job Expansion

Our priority is the expansion and development of jobs in rural Iowa. Not only does it encourage the growth of smaller towns, but it can also aid in the housing crisis facing younger generations. Pushing small business development and encouraging entrepreneurship will increase the opportunities of rural Iowa, strengthening the state at its core.

Eminent Domain Restrictions

Our goal is to prevent the seizure of land for the use of carbon pipelines. Landowners should not be forced to surrender property for the profit of private corporations.

Common Questions

Will you restrict the use of eminent domain for carbon capture pipelines?

We do not support the use of eminent domain for the purpose of carbon pipelines in the state of Iowa. Not only does this require the seizure of Iowans' land, but it also inevitably introduces pollution into our soil, leaving landowners with contaminated land.

What is the stance on environmental protection and agriculture?

Iowa’s farmers are the stewards of our land. We support voluntary, incentive-based conservation programs that protect our soil and water quality while enhancing farm profitability. Additionally, we aim to solidify Iowa’s position as a national leader in renewable energy production.

What is your stance on Iowa's school voucher program.

Approximately $349 million in taxpayer dollars will be spent on private K-12 schools in Iowa for the 2025-2026 school year through the voucher program. This is money that is being directed away from the fiscal needs of our public schools. Iowa has always been known for the quality of its public schools, and it is this candidate's position that we must maintain this important resource through adequate funding.

How will the campaign engage with local communities?

Our campaign is built on listening. We are attending town halls in our district to hear directly from you. Through our regular digital updates, we ensure that every voice in Iowa has a clear channel to share their concerns and ideas for our collective future.
